A beautiful plant in spring is (above) the glossy ornamental ginger. These plants require DEEP shade and moist soil.

Can't wait for the lillies of the valley (left) to bloom. They have a sweet fragrance and delicate little white flowers just right for a miniature vase. These are finally spreading- I have had them in this spot for more than seven years. In Idaho, they spread slowly. But what a joy they are when they bloom.

I love gardening and when it comes to vegetables, organic gardening is important to me. I am an Advanced Master Gardener with the University of Idaho, and my favorite garden activity is pruning. When I'm not cutting down plants, you can find me shooting photos on my Canon DSLR or out smashing overheads on the tennis courts.
